HOW UGLY IS STRESS?

Did you know that stress can affect your beauty?
Your body’s coping mechanism will be thrown off balance by adrenaline and other stress hormones. Here are 3 ways things get ugly when it comes to stress.
Stress lowers the immune system. Your body’s ability to protect itself is weakened and you know what other protective layer is affected? Your skin.
Stress increases higher levels of cortisol which can cause unwanted changes in the skin. Higher levels of cortisol will trigger an increased production of oil and as we know, too much oil will is followed by breakouts. A consistently increased amount of cortisol is catabolic to the body, which means over time your muscle mass will decrease and affect your overall health.
Besides dealing with zits, people will also see a change in their teeth and hair. Grinding the teeth is a sign of stress and most people are not aware they do this! We’ve already mentioned this culprit but high levels of cortisol comes back in the picture reducing biotin levels and thus the shortage of nutrients will cause hair loss.
We cannot avoid stress but we can control it and reduce negative effects that it causes. First, of course is acknowledging that our life is not perfect. The good news is we can manage our stress by filling our time with helpful activities such as exercising and hobbies that are relaxing to us.
What is even better we can treat ourselves to healing practices such as aromatherapy and other holistic methods to keep calm and relax. As we all know aromatherapy is used to promote emotional well being though smells mixed together. One of the newest essential oils I started using is called Rays for Days. The moment I smelled it I wanted to taste it. It smells amazing! A harmonious blend of citrus, lemon, lime, and bergamot instantly brought brightness to my mind. The gummies available are like candy and I’m tempted to eat many.

Rub the oil on the inside of wrists, neck, or temple
Another set of gummy supplements that can add calmness to a turbulent lifestyle is the Less Stress, More Yes gummies. Flavored like mango lemon, these delicious gummies really do add a relaxing feel. As I’m writing this blog, I’m enjoying a flavorful and relaxing chamomile tea mixed with hibiscus and lavender.
Though I cannot say that I am constantly stressed out, I can speak to the type A’s out there because I am one. Taking supplements to ease stress is not about reducing stress for me. I like to take moments during the day to keep my controlling side under control. It helps to stay refreshed for the moments when I do need to take charge.
